His story survives only in Breiðvíkingakappa þáttr, a short tale embedded in Icelandic saga manuscripts. There, Björn lands in a lush, hot country, marries a local woman, and is remembered for teaching ironworking and ship carpentry before sailing back north — or disappearing entirely.
