This tree produces the “Cotton of the Carribean”, Kapok. In the past, it was the choice stuffing for quilts, pillows and more, especially in the Carribean and Netherlands. The Kapok tree requires minimal water compared to other natural fibers, is antimicrobial, water resistant and has great bounce back.
