These aren’t just a stumps. It’s a graveyard of an ancient forest. Old growth trees some hundreds, even thousands of years old, once stood here. These giants supported entire ecosystems, absorbed massive amounts of carbon, and held deep cultural and spiritual meaning. Now, they’ve been cut down, and most people will never even know what was lost. We can’t just keep planting trees and pretend it replaces what’s been destroyed.
