I’m a big fan of the diverse businesses in downtown Whitby. One way to encourage foot traffic is to animate our public spaces like Celebration Square in front of Whitby’s main library. I propose the Town of Whitby host Blue Jays watch parties so we can celebrate baseball together. The jays draw a lot of Whitby residents and their wallets to downtown Toronto on game night. It’s time to reverse that trend and give our local economy a boost while cheering on the Jays. What do you think? | Chris Lea
