But just because she doesn’t need them during the day to drive doesn’t mean we’d just take them away from her at night and say see how it goes!!! My mother in law had knee surgery and can walk, but if we’re going long distances she rents a scooter. My daughter is Autistic, and for her that comes with a language disorder.

Thanks to ABA, Charlie has learned to communicate basic needs using an AAC device, he’s also learning self-care skills and safety. There’s never any punishment, and his therapists are like family. ABA isn’t about making an autistic person “non-autistic”, it’s about giving people with autism a chance at learning skills that many take for granted like communication, safety and self-care skills.
