With housing costs a top concern among Californians, voters casting their ballots in the November election are considering a multi-billion dollar plan that aims to help prospective middle-class homebuyers by offering down payment assistance.
And it seems — if early numbers are any indication — that turnout may be on track to be relatively high. As of Monday afternoon, more than 6.4 million ballots in California had been cast, with nearly 23.
California voters will elect a new lieutenant governor Tuesday, choosing between Democratic state Treasurer Fiona Ma and former Democratic state Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero, who is running as a Republican.
All ballots in the state of California must be cast in person or returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
From control of Congress to big decisions for the next governor, the outcomes in this midterm election will carry important consequences for the Golden State.
The USC poll also found that there is an excitement gap between Democratic and Republican voters this year, with Democratic voters significantly more excited about their candidates than Republican voters are for their own.
